    Director, Center for Excellence in Physician Communication at Mt. Sinai Health System

    Yosuke Chikamoto, PhD has 25 years of experiences in health communication and health education/promotion in the United States. Recently, he was the lead consultant for the Clinician-Patient Communication program as well as the Physician Health & Wellness program at the Permanente Medical Group –Kaiser Permanente, one of the largest integrated healthcare systems. Currently he is leading a new initiative on improving physician communication skills at Mount Sinai Health System in New York City that consists of Icahn School of Medicine and 7 hospital campuses.

    Before joining Kaiser Permanente, he taught in the graduate and undergraduate programs in health promotion management and health sciences at American University and California State University, respectively. He also spent 7 years at Stanford University’s Center for Research in Disease Prevention where he managed the development of various IT-assisted health promotion products for domestic and international use as well as the implementation of workshops for healthcare providers on health management and behavior modification.
